چکیده
Hydrophobically modified chitooligosaccharides (COSs) were tested for suitability as an emulsifier in cationic bituminous emulsions. COSs with polymerization degrees (DPs) of 5, 10, 15, and 20 obtained by nitrous acid deamination. A complete study on depolymerization precise product side characterization was undergone. Chemical modification performed to achieve amphiphilic structures using three fatty epoxides a growing chain length butyl (C4), octadecyl (C9), hexadecyl glycidyl ether (C16)). The grafting efficiency according reaction conditions established. Different substitution (DSs) modulating the ratio epoxy NH2. It shown that after certain DS, oligomers thus formed not water-soluble anymore. At end, cardanol grafted DP 15 COSs, being biobased compound extracted from cashew nut shell; this led potentially fully structure. Water-soluble candidates higher DS used surfactants emulsify motor oil simulation bitumen. Cardanol–chitosan-based direct oil-in-water emulsion (60/40 w/w) composed particles μm average size stable at least 24 h.

simulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water
abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...
Formation of Silver Nanoparticles Using Fluorescence Properties of Chitosan Oligomers
In this study, silver chloride nanoparticles (AgCl NPs) were prepared using chitosan oligomer (CHI) and chitosan oligomer derivatives (CHI-FITC). The CHI and CHI-FITC were used as markers to confirm the formation of AgCl NPs using their fluorescence properties as well as stabilizers. The fluorescence properties of CHI and CHI-FITC were monitored by a luminescence spectrophotometer, and the morp...
متن کاملOil-in-water emulsions stabilized by highly charged polyelectrolyte-grafted silica nanoparticles.
Fully sulfonated poly(styrenesulfonate) brushes were grown from the surface of colloidal silica particles and used to prepare stable trichloroethylene-in-water and heptane-in-water Pickering emulsions. These particles were highly charged and colloidally stable in water but could not be dispersed in trichloroethylene or heptane. Both two-phase (emulsion plus neat water) and three-phase (emulsion...
متن کاملThermodynamic Stability of Water-in-oil Emulsions
It is well known that colloids can show phase transitions similar to the ones observed in molecular systems. Colloid-diluted and colloid-concentrated phases can coexist in thermodynamic equilibrium at certain conditions. In a previous work, the authors of this research have used this concept to study petroleum emulsions stability, applying thermodynamic perturbation theories to calculate a phas...
متن کاملPhysical and Rheological Properties of Oil in Water Heat Stable Emulsions Made from Different Stabilizers
Oil in water emulsions have attracted considerable attention in food industry due to their large applications. In this study, the effect of thermal treatment on oil in water emulsions (o/w) containing 40% oil was studied. The emulsions were prepared using xanthan gum, guar gum and carboxymethyl cellulose as stabilizer and polyoxyethylen sorbitan monooleat as emulsifier. A mixture design was use...
